Therefore tall buildings are quickly finding their way, with multilevel basements.The truction of such basements requires deep excavation with property line present in the immediate vicinity of the excavations. A host of methods are currently in use the world over for supporting deep excavations. These includes sheet piling, R.C diaphragm walls, strutting, shoring and raking, contiguous / secant pile walls with or without anchors and shotcrete. The last system is gaining popularity among engineers and designers due to its cost benefit and achievable depths for excavation.
